It has been ten years since Michelle painted the most beautiful portrait of my then-7-year old daughters and new puppy. The painting hangs prominently in our living room and continues to make me smile each time i walk past. It will forever evoke memories of a special phase in my family's life. Realistic, yet impressionistic, the painting captures the essence of twin sisters, joyful and innocent on our front lawn. A decade later, we are still so thrilled that we "froze" that moment. How can we stop time? Not that any parent actually wants to do this, but we contemplate ways to slow things down so that we can appreciate the exquisite passage of time. For both my husband and me, the ability to hold on to a cherished moment, while sitting in our living room is the key...at least the beginning of slowing down.
The painting of our four children, by Michelle, is in our living room surrounded by other art forms and grounds the room and us at the same time. The colors are vibrant, the feeling is calm and the eyes are perfection. They say the eyes are the windows of your face that let people know your heart is at home. The eyes of our four children in this painting are timeless and 100% them!
We are fortunate to have two portraits. The other 48" x48" is from a photograph in the jungles of Thailand transformed to the beaches of John's Island, Florida. We had a photo that we loved and Michelle made it work in our Florida home seamlessly. She altered the trees and primary colors of the jungle to the perfect hues of ocean and beach making our favorite photo of our children come to life!
Michelle is warm and loving so it makes sense that her paintings would create that same aura. You cannot imagine how her work will transform your space. We would highly recommend Michelle time and again!
